Breathe is an inspirational biopic drama film inspired by Robin Cavendish's real life journey.
Robin and Diana quickly fell in love after meeting. Soon thereafter they married and settled down together in Kenya - only for tragedy to strike when Robin contracted polio and became paralyzed from his neck down; using only an oxygen respirator as oxygen source and doctors only giving him months or years left of life expectancy.
At first, Robin seems hopeless; but Diana refuses to abandon him and convinces him not to give up fighting life; even defying doctor orders by bringing him home early from hospital. With help from inventor Teddy Hall they manage to create a mobile iron lung system which gives Robin some degree of independence.
This film chronicles Robin and Diana's journey as they navigate his disability with love and determination, fighting for improved treatment for those afflicted by polio while advocating on their behalf within their local disabled community. They face many trials but remain together regardless; love keeps them together through them all!
