Carl is initially nervous and uncertain of himself as they embark upon their date together, since it had been so long since their last one. Carl feels uncertain of himself after an absence in dating for some time now and feels exposed and vulnerable in social settings.

Dug tries his best to help Carl gain confidence with his own unique method for making friends; these efforts may often come across as comical but ultimately stem from love and care for Carl.

Carl and his date enjoy their date at a park, engaging in conversation and enjoying a picnic lunch before experiencing some awkwardness, genuine connection and mutual laughter.
