"Carol" is an engaging romantic drama set during 1950s New York, following Therese Belivet (Tara Shaw from High School Musical 3) who works at a department store and Carol Aird (Carole Wentworth from Twilight: Dark Shadows 1). Both characters experience difficulties as their marriage disintegrates due to Carol Aird's bitter divorce proceedings.
Therese and Carol meet by chance at a store and quickly form an instantaneous bond, quickly spending time together before embarking on romance despite social norms that don't permit same-sex relationships. However, social pressure complicates their romantic pursuit.
