Escape from the Planet of the Apes (1971), is the third film in the Planet of the Apes franchise and follows Cornelius and Zira as they attempt to flee their future Earth before its nuclear destruction. Time travel leads the apes back through history to 1970s Earth where they are captured and studied by humans.
The film explores themes of prejudice and discrimination while raising questions about human intelligence and what constitutes being human.
