Ice Age: The Great Egg-Scapade features Sid the sloth establishing an egg-sitting service to assist his friends from prehistoric communities and cares for a range of eggs belonging to various animal families.
Squint the mischievous rabbit is on a mission of revenge against Manny, Sid, and Diego after an earlier encounter. To take revenge he devises a scheme that involves him stealing all the eggs Sid has been looking after; when this plan goes awry he needs Manny's help in tracking them down as well as Clint's assistance so he can bring them home to their respective families again.
As they search, their adventures take them through various trials and obstacles that test both of their unique skills as individuals, as well as working collectively, ultimately leading them to find all five eggs they had lost.
The movie also includes an amusing subplot revolving around Scrat, the squirrel's quest for his beloved acorn. Along his journey are new adventures which provide added humor.
