Polish postwar culture is perfectly captured in this jazzy dramatization of draft dodging's last day of freedom for an antidraft-dodger named Andrzej (played by director/writer Jerzy Skolimowski himself). After an argument with his pouting wife and an interminably delayed military physical (the film takes its title from one question asked during that physical), Andrzej embarks upon an uncertain day filled with women encounters following one question posed during said physical.
