Josie Geller is an ambitious 25-year-old copy editor at a newspaper who dreams of becoming a reporter. Josie jumps right into high school life, navigating all its social dynamics, cliques, and academic pressures with gusto. Soon enough she makes friends among a select few students; later even developing feelings for one of their English teachers whom she finds quite captivating.
As Josie moves deeper into her investigation, the lines between her real and undercover selves begin to blur, creating both challenges and ethical dilemmas for herself, ultimately calling into question what it means to remain true to oneself.
The story explores themes of identity, belonging, self-discovery and the difficulties of navigating social circles - making for a lighthearted coming-of-age story with romantic undertones.
