Set during Afghanistan's long and bloody war, this film tells the tale of US Army Sergeant John Kinley and Ahmed, his Afghan interpreter. After Ahmed saved Kinley during an ambush and saved their lives together, Kinley felt indebted to him; upon hearing that Ahmed and his family cannot leave Afghanistan as promised for safety passage back home he vows to repay their debt by returning back into warzone territory to rescue them all himself.
