The Grand Budapest Hotel tells the tale of Monsieur Gustave H. and Zero, two acclaimed concierges at a famous hotel that become embroiled in an intricate murder plot involving an elderly widower with wealth, an expensive painting that brings no joy, and an emerging fascist regime.
Film takes place in the fictional European country of Zubrowka and frames itself around an interweaved narrative: an elderly author recounts his youth at once-grand hotel to a young woman before publishing a book based on them both.
