"Vice Versa" (1988 comedy film) tells the tale of Marshall, an overworked workaholic father and Charlie, his son from whom he often neglected. While on an Asian vacation they come upon an object which causes their minds to switch places causing Charlie and Marshall to switch places as well.
Marshall now finds himself inhabiting Charlie's preteen body and facing all the same struggles associated with school, bullies and social anxieties as Charlie did previously; in contrast to this is Marshall taking over Charlie's adult form to face work-related responsibilities such as deadlines and project completion deadlines while maintaining professional image.
As they try to adapt to their new reality, the trio come to appreciate each other more deeply while working to break free of their spell and return home; all while keeping away from an unlikely pair of thieves who want the magical object.
The film explores themes of family, communication and empathy as Marshall and Charlie learn valuable lessons on understanding perspective and appreciating all phases of their life journeys.
